Investment Checklist
Investing in the microcap sector is not for the faint of heart.
Due to the relatively higher price volatility of microcap stocks, these investments generally carry greater risk than investments in large, established companies. As an investor, you must anticipate the elevated risk and be prepared to do your research to identify the best opportunities for profit.
At Rethink, our role is to support your decision making by providing accurate, actionable research and analysis. Then, it’s up to you to make the final call.
- As a tool to assist you in assessing the information we provide, as well as other information you may acquire on your own, we offer the following questionnaire checklist:
- Is the company fully reporting with the SEC (in which case it will trade on the OTCBB)?
- How old is the company? Has it recently changed hands or its line of business?
- How many shares are outstanding/authorized? Has this changed recently? (Is the company undergoing Dilution?)
- Does the company have:
- an understandable business plan?
- the experience/knowledge to execute this plan?
- enough employees to execute this plan?
- enough cash to execute this plan?
- Do you think that the business plan is viable? What probability would you attach to its success?
- Who are the management? What experience do they have? Have they been associated with past successes?
- Do they have a lot of debt on the balance sheet?
- Do they have some sort of competitive advantage (e.g., a patent or other protective “moat” around their business)?
- Does the company have any revenues? Is it showing growth? Is it generating profits? What are the chances of these things happening and how soon?
- Are there any potential catalysts on the horizon (positive news, earnings, etc.) that will move the stock price?
